Pain in lower abdomen

Post a new topicby Conrad on Wed Jun 17, 2009 6:20 pm

My symptoms are these, it started late december, i had a difficult time urinating, would only dribble out, when i strained to urinate i felt a pain in my lower left abodomen, naturally i seen a doctor and he prescribed me bactrum, it helped only slightly but the pain got progressively worse, i woke up at least once per night to use bathroom, it all sounded like urinary problems but here is kicker, it seemed to affect my intestines because i totally lost my appetite for 2 days and did not have any bowel movements, the doctor booked me in for a colonoscopy suspecting possible diverticulitis or hernia but results came back negative, i suffered with pain for close to 5 months before i decided to take saw palmetto, the pain has since subsided as long as i keep taking these herbal supplements, but before you say it is prostatitis why then would it affect my bowel's and why do i now experience pain in both sides of my lower abdomen just below belly button?
