dead leg

Post a new topicby mlechem on Wed Oct 10, 2007 2:56 pm

Yesterday I was playing basketball and came down from a rebound and my heal landed on someone's shoe. A couple of minutes later my leg got all prickely and I couldn't feel the floor. I could not put any weight on my leg, left leg. It was like the floor wasn't there. My leg was involentarily convulsing. It lasted for a minute or so. The gals supporting me let go and I tried to walk it off. Then not two minutes later it started all over. This time I colapsed to the floor. It lasted again for about a minute. I left and went straight to the Insta Care. The Dr. told me I had irritated my sciatic nerve. I just don't buy that. There was no pain and it affected my leg all over. I don't doubt the nerve irritation, just not the sciatic. Since this happened my left leg has just felt realy tired, weak. No history of back pain. I have had sciatic nerve discomfort very rarly in the past but that was a burning achy feeling. Any ideas. Thanks

You may want to consider consulting a chiropractor or a podiatrist. If the other doctor you saw was a GP, he/she may not have enough experience to accurately diagnose your condition.
