Re: allergy to all forms of tapenot sure what you are looking for you have a tape allergy, I have seen many patients with the same complaint
Re: allergy to all forms of tapeI have to write a paper for microbiology on an allergy that I have an the only one that I have is tape allergy. i break out, the tape rips off the skins and irritates it. I have even bled from the tape. the only kind that can be used is the opsite that is placed over the IV needle and that stuff is quit expensive. any help that you can give would be appreciated.
Re: allergy to all forms of tapeIs it just tape or have you noticed any problems with latex/rubber? I developed latex sensitivity which later became latex allergy over the past four years. Adhesives on most bandages, including Band-Aids are latex based. IV tape is usually non-latex based adhesive. I used to work as a street medic, but had to quit because of my allergy to latex, just about everything except oxygen masks and tubing contains latex. If I picked up a latex glove, I immediately tasted latex and started having breathing difficulty. Check with your doctor or an allergy clinic, if you haven't already.
