I feel sorry no one has responded to you regarding your friends problem.
Everyone today is stressed to one form or another it's normal in todays day.
My stress came from an ilness 2 monthes pain from kidney stones.
I have since passed stones gone through procedures but caught a bit of stress and anxiety from the whole experience.
I'm no doctor but no sleep is your worst enemy....
My girlfriend went to a chinese herbalist who made a de-stressing tea I take a night or Sleepy time tea
at the Super market. With some Real lavender oil spray (chinese herbalist) I spray on my pillow at night. Sounds bizzare but try it..I've slept since.and everyday is easier!!!
A nice walk with some good tunes each day, fresh air does wonders really!!!
I'm a 250 lb carpenter/biker type and this works for me.....
Your friend is stressed out ...life sucks right now for everyone..deep breathes, tea,etc
If that does not work go fo anti-deppresants(try holistic 1st!!)
Good luck

have you heard of IBT (inclined bed therapy)?
Tell him to raise his bed 6". Higher on the side of the head, He will sleep better.
