weird withdrawel symptoms

Post a new topicby lizzyb on Tue Dec 02, 2008 12:07 pm

I have been a nonsmoker for a week now. I am using the nicotine patch and it seems to help with cravings. What concerns me are the other symptoms I am having: exhaustion, weird dreams, stomach problems, and coughing up mucus and headache. Has anyone else experienced these? I would love any advice I could get! I have been smoking since I was 15 and I am 35 now.

Nicotine is a stimulant and is known to interfere with sleeping patterns. I wonder if you are getting too much replacement nicotine with the dose level of your patch? Try going down a level and see if your sleep improves.

Another approach to this would be to remove the patch before you sleep. Use it just during waking hours.
