Nephrotic syndrome

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Jul 11, 2002 7:28 am

I have Nephrotic syndrome for the last 15 years. but since last six months blood urea is 56mg/dl and creatinin is 4.3mg/dl and ESR is 115. Could yo explain me ESR is so much high. despite this fact that I have no tuberculous infection. My Hb is 9.3mg%.

Thanks

ESR is a nonspecific finding that is elevated in numerous medical conditions. Often they are related in that an ongoing inflamatory process is ongoing. this can be due to infection or flare of arthritis. In patients with NS (Nephrotic Syndrome) the ESR is elevated as a side effect of the large protein spillage in the urine.
