Proteinemia

Post a new topicby Nikrott on Thu Dec 20, 2007 10:24 pm

My husband has had a heart attack many years back and currently is a type II Diabetic. He has been on Norvasc for his bloo dpressure for years and it seems to be fine. However he went to the clinic yesterday and was placed on a higher dose of Glimeipride ( he now takes 2, 4 mg tabs per day) and in addition to his 10 mg of Norvasc he now is taking Metformin Hcl 500 mg 2 daily plus Enalapril 5 mg once daily as well as 20 mg of Lasix. I am now concenred since his blood pressure has been right at 140/66 for a good while now that his blood pressure will drop too low and he was not given any potassium to take with the Lasix. His blood sugars have not been under control for a good while now (200 up to 330) and I thought they would have for sure changed him over to insulin but instead they just added the Metformin. Am I worried for nothing or should he maybe get a 2nd opinion on this. I feel his meds are not quiet right but maybe someone else can give me somne input on this thought. He does have excedss protein in his urine though so I sort of understand part of the med changes but them I am still confused with others. Hopefully someone else out there can give me some insight on this matter.
