Hi , I have recently been diagnosed with pkd . this followed a hellish two months of tests and procedures . I have both kidneys enlarged and the bladder also . which takes up the whole skeletal cavern in the belly area to the groin. I have a cyst on the top lobe of my right kidney. with the uterer tubes also affected by cyst growth .i have a hematuria .affecting the bladder which folds over itself after urinating. my symptoms are numerous as pkd affects not only the kidneys .but also in my case the bladder .my grf is 28.9 ,which is the measure of kidney function . 15 -30 is severe . only one step away from renal failure and requiring dialysis . 3 days a week at 4 hours a time . It has all been a roller coaster ride .of highs and lows . but what ever you do! have hope . keep active and positive .But only do what you can . and then rest . My symptoms are chills that even when i am near a warm area , i still feel cold . fatique ,dizzy,back pain below rib cage . confused thought ,flank pain ,painfull feet and knees with bone pain, muscle tremmors,pulsing pain in neck,and left hand,blurry vision,that comes spasmodically,frequent urination,especially at night. decreased urine out put. frothy cloudy urine. no energy to do things like mow the lawn, drains the energy levels .low libido.hair loss sleep disorders. cause you need to toilet through-out the night.anemia and pale skin , puffy around the eyes, Pkd is caused by the chromosones 4 and 16 . (usually male at mid life inherit it from one parent 50% chance) . or (25%if both parents) cheers wayne
