Nephrotic Syndrome

I needed some help on kidney diseases. I was born with a kidney(my left one) that never grew. I always had kidney infections, well i just found out a few days ago my left kidney no longer works and my right kidney only works 80%. I was wondering if I should be on dialysis. The DR i went to really didnt say much only to come back in year. What does the percentage of the kidney function have to be for dialysis. I am really worried because I dont want to have dialysis.
