frequent relapser of NSmy son was first diagnosed with NS (MCD)in 1998 when one and half yers old has relapsed sixth time each earlier relapse was followed bya course of prednisolone from 40 mg tapered later. will my child become steroid resistant if the same course is administered? what are his chances of a renal faliure? what are the precationary measures to be taken for evading another relapse? what diet should be followed for him?
Re: frequent relapser of NSPatietns with MCD that are frequent relapsers or steroid resistant represent a group of challenging pateitns. The approach to these patietns must be indivdualized and often will involve using additional immunosuppressive drugs such as :
Cytoxan chlorambucil cyclosporin cellcept levamisole or monitoring patient with no additional immunosuppressive rx The Nephrologist needs to communicate with the patient and family the different options andthe rationale for the approach being taken.
