My dad who is 73yrs old has HBP & is a type 2 Diabetic all being controlled by medication.

Now a little higher protein level was detected in his urine blood work and is doing a 24 hour renal testing.

Is it customary to see a Urologist prior to a Nephropist ?

Also how does one locate a good specialist in this field.
