foamy urine concernI am a 44 years old male. I had a strong sinus and throat infection 1 year ago and took a cephalosporin for that for 3 weeks. My concern is that since then I have foamy urine all the time.
My only previous health issue was an intoxication by ciprofloxacin, that left me with permanent neurological lesions, as well as slightly high myoglobin (98, max normal 80ng/ml); high CPK (325, max normal 170 U/l); high aldolase (5.20, max normal 3.10 U/l); high bilirubin (1.93, max normal 1.30 mg/dl). All the tests for screening tens of markers of rheumatic-inflammatory-inmune illnesses are always negative. Red and white cell counts normal, as well as C-reactive and all hormones. Two hormones always on the high normal level: cortisol and parathormone PTH. My tests show tipically this: SERUM urea = 28 mg/dl (normal range 10-50) creatinine = 0,90 mg/dl (normal range 0.30-1.40) uric acid = 5.30 mg/dl (normal range 3.40-7.50) all the rest normal URINE creatinine = 1783 mg/24h (max normal 2000) urea = 31.6 gr/24h (normal range 17-34) uric acid = 812 mg/24h (normal range 250-750) calcium = 313 mg/24h (normal range 100-240) sodium = 85 mg/24 h (normal range 130-260) chloride = 112 mg/24 h (normal 110-250) microalbumin 0.09 (0.00-2.00) creatinine clearance 137 ml/min (80-125) SUMMARY: I have foamy urine. The tests for proteins apparently do not detect abnormalities but I think they are not comprehensive enough. The creatinine clearance is above normal. The calcium and uric acid excreted in urine are above normal. The sodium and chloride excreted in urine are below normal. QUESTIONS: 1. Can be inferred that I loose protein? 2. What kind of disorder may I suffer? 3. What other tests would I ask my urologist for to get a more precise diagnosis? 4. What kind of evolution of the proteinuria can I expect as more likely? 5. Should I adopt a special diet? Thank you very much.
