Sleep on your stomach to pass stone fragments?

Post a new topicby not again on Fri May 15, 2009 3:16 pm

I had lasertripsy 3 weeks ago. Saw my uro the other day, he says my stones are now calcium phosphate. They used to be oxalate which makes me wonder if they changed cuz of my ph changing from potassium citrate. Whatever...
Anyway he told me that my husband should "tap'' my back for 10 mins everynight while I lay on my stomach and then i should sleep on my stomach. He said it flips the kidney when you sleep on your stomach. This will help pass fragments. Ummm anyone have any luck with this?? I can't fall asleep in this position, neck pain lower back pain etc.
He said they basketed all the fragments they could during my surgery, but there are still fragments left.As far as I know I haven't passed any.
I'm pretty much positive that those little fragments will turn into stones, too big to pass in the lower poles of my kidneys again, that seems to be my pattern. Scheduled to see him in 4 mos, will have a KUB before then. Whatever, I'm not hopeful.
