questions re:kidney stones

Post a new topicby concernedwife on Sat Apr 05, 2008 7:55 pm

My husband has had several attacks of kidney stones Some he passed on his own; others required lith. and stent placement. For the past 3-4 months, he has had a recurrent pain in his left flank, somewhere between his lower rib cage and his hip. It hasn't been the characteristic colicy pain of kidney stones Our personal physician had thought it was a strained muscle originally. The pain has been steadily getting worse over the past 6-8 weeks. It is a dull ache all the time. At times he has sharp pain upon certain movement of his back. He says it feels like his side is swollen, but nil visible to see. The Dr. finally sent him for a CT scan this past week. We are still waiting to get the results, and I found this forum and wondered if anyone had similar experience. Any thoughts?
