Questions about the ultrasound treatment

Post a new topicby sunniegnt on Wed Apr 30, 2008 1:30 am

I saw the urologist yesterday. My 24 hour urine after staying off calcium for a week showed that I am absorbing the calicum from my diet. I need to cut down on calcium - that is hard. He is considering meds for this, but I am not so sure. I have one stone that is almost 1cm about to leave the kidney. THen I have a few other big ones and some smaller ones. ALl but one are in the left side. He is sending me to have the ultrasound/blasting procedure (can't remember the official name). I am a little nervous - can anyone share their experiences with this. Also, part of the reason for my kidney stones is pregnancy related. Now that I have given birth they can treat it. I am still nursing, has anyone had this procedure and continued breastfeeding? How long did you need to take it easy after the procedure? I just recovered from a c-section. He said I may need a stent. We have a vacation planned for 2 weeks after I am hoping they will do this procedure so I am hoping to be recovered.
Thanks for any answers.
