Possible kidney stoneI am new to the forum, and I need understanding on my situation. Am 56 years old male with chronic heart problem taking lots of medications, experiencing left lower back pain, and pain below left hip,but is above left groin. Urine sample showed trace of blood. I had CT scan done, but was told its OK. The DR told me I have signs of kidney stone, but don't want to touch it. I have another radiology appointment coming to check it.
My questions to those that experienced it are: 1. What are the symptoms of kidney stone.? 2. What causes it? 3. Is rectal affected by kidney stone, and need to be inspected also? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Possible kidney stoneCT Scan gave a clear image of everything if your care taker seen that is small (itty-bitty)that will cause blood and pain or a large up to (4mm x 7mm) can be passed and non-obstructive I would agree..drink double your normal amount of fluids(not beer or achohol) dont be stagnant(walk) there are over the counter med that eases ut and bladder pain but in your case ask your doctor...only if you need treatment is the time to go through the hell ..ive had several treatments over 30yrs the two i have now are 22mm and 12.5 mm after a failed ESWL in Sept they are going in my back(PCNL) on Nov13th 2009,Bruce
