7mm need to pass and never had a stone beforeI have a 7mm stone which I have been dealing with since the first of june. I went to the er and they discovered it but at that time it measured 5 mm, then a month later I was in pain again and went to the er again and this time the cat scan said it measured 7mm. I am a women, and am now on flomax, and I am drinking pretty much a gallon of water or lemon water a day. anyway, on the last scan they said the stone was 1/2 inch from my bladder, and they are hoping I will pass it. in which case so far its not happened. But with women or men, does the urthera feel irritated when the stone is so close to the bladder. its the only symptom I am having now. Just my urthera feels irritated and like I need to go. I go back to the urologist on monday and will have a xray. but just would love to hear what others feels. I have looked everything up online that I can but can't find anything about this.
thank you everyone, deb
Re: 7mm need to pass and never had a stone beforemine was a 9mm and would not pass, did not know I had it until I began to get Urinary Tract Infections that would not clear up. Had repeated Lithotripsys, drinking lemon juice by the ton, the stones are back and I feel pressure like there is a blockage...I am do to go back in a couple of weeks. Your stone is large it may get lodged...have you had Urinary Tract Infections?
Re: 7mm need to pass and never had a stone beforeso far they have checked me for infections and all is clear, of course that can change quickly. Its funny, I just feel this feeling only in my urthera tube, not the bladder. now if my bladder fills up some the irritation disappears , I have no back pain or anything else, just plain ole discomfort as if I have a infection. the way my stone is growing it will be over 7 mm by the time they do the x-rays so I may have to have surgery of some kind. This is all so new to me I have no idea what to expect or what I am feeling. it is discouraging to have this stone for over 2 months now. it moved so well to the bladder then stopped. well almost to the bladder, they says its 1/2 inch from the opening.
thanks for responding, its nice to hear from others and how they are doing. deb
Re: 7mm need to pass and never had a stone beforeI don't have an answer but I have another question for you, since you seem to be suffering from the same problem as me, same size stone even;
did they put a tube in your back, going into your kidney, to drain it? I have a tube in my kidney, but am also on Flomax, but that started me thinking... if my kidney is being drained, and pressure is being relieved, that what force is going to push the stone out? Also, if you don't have a tube, and the stone is in your ureter, what's stopping your kidney from filling up?
Re: 7mm need to pass and never had a stone beforeWhen you say irritated, what do you mean? Is it painful in your "bladder" when you urinate and do you have spasms? I am female as well and i recently had a 22 mm stone taken out through my right flank. I passed a stone when i was 15 and the worst pain i had was when it was passing from my bladder out. I recently also had blood clots in my bladder, which caused horrible bladder spasms and once they began to pass out of my bladder, i got a horrible sense to push. My bladder constantly felt irritated in both cases. Is this what you are going through? I hope i helped you.
