kidney stones and urine tests

Post a new topicby dmcnichols on Thu May 14, 2009 7:46 am

Does anybody know if/how kidney stones affects a patients urine screens????
By definition; kidney stones are calcified 'wastes' so if a patient has old drugs in their system, once the stones start to make their way out...would this cause a patient to test positive for drugs??

thanks for any information given!

I am not a doctor but I would have to say no on this one. If a stone did pick up a minute amount of a drug while it was forming I wouldn't think there would be enough of the drug to be detected in the urine coming from a hard stone. JMO
