Hypocitraturia

Hello, new to the forum. Just got out of Duke University Hospital with a new Diagnosis of Kidney Stones .. was never more shocked in my life!... I thought I was going into labor but knew I wasn't pregnant!!! My baby was a Calcium Stone! After enduring many test and many a medical student at Duke ( God Bless them everyone) they found out that my ph level was too low.. they wanted it to be a 6.0- 6.5 and it was 5.0 and my citrate level should be at least 600 and it was only 86 ....... is this unusually low? could this mean the start of kidney failure or something else.. I was so surprised by it I couldn't even ask questions... he wants to see me every four months for scans and do a 24 hour urine test. Is this the usual treatment ?
I'm 56 and have other health problems osteoporosis . and reflux disease to name two of them...
I lack calcium in my bones.. how did I get too much calcium to form stones??? my next questions is.. the Urocit-K (potassium citrate ) used for treatment is well known for stomach upset.. can a person who has severe reflux manage this medication ? anyone have any advice on this?
