Hypercalciuria, normal Serum calcium, low Vitamin D3

Post a new topicby mystixls on Tue Jul 14, 2009 4:39 pm

My urologist has tried all diuretics, gave me a diet to follow, ruled out parathyroid dysfunction, referred me to an Endocrinologist and now claims I may have renal phosphate leak hypercalciuria. My Vitamin D3 levels were abnormally low and my endocrinologist has me taking a supplement. My urologist wants to put me on K-phos neutral, but I understand that it acts to decrease Vitamin D3. Since my D3 level is borderline low now that I am supplementing, I am resistant to taking a medication that will lower it further. I am wondering if my urologist is right in thinking that my hypercalciuria is caused by renal phosphate leak.
