help needed in passing fragments after LithotripsyHad Lithotripsy on both sides 2 days ago and dr. said to lie on a inclined board for a 1/2 hour, (1/2 hr after drinking 2 glasses of water) to help fragments pass. Does anyone know ANY other ways to make the fragments pass out thru the urine faster?
Thank you!
Re: help needed in passing fragments after Lithotripsyjacksie, my wife has the same problems. Her stone fragments will not pass. In passing, I recommended that we buy an incline board, but our urologist laughed and said it would not work.
So far her stone fragments have not passed and an operation maybe required by our urologist. My research indicates the there is a little pocket in the lower part of the kidney which is very difficult for any stone fragments to pass. The reason is that the kidney, no matter how much fluid you drink may not be able flush out any stone fragments. I'm buying an incline board and have my wife use it more than 1/2 hour as your urologist has suggested. gott
Re: help needed in passing fragments after LithotripsyI have had over 5 blasts over the past 5 years and yes this board DOES work no matter what the dr. says. My Dr. even gave a photo instruction sheet how to do it.
Also, I just remembered something else that worked for me. WATERMELLON! Eat tons of it if you can find it. The fluids helped pass them the last time. I just remembered this.
Re: help needed in passing fragments after LithotripsyI had the Lithotripsy on the 20th and my doctor told me to do the inversion therapy (hang upside down). he also said that while im at an angle to have someone hit my back to help loosen up the stone fragments.
hope all works out
Re: help needed in passing fragments after LithotripsyWell, after my blasting 3 weeks ago, ALL the fragments have passed (from a stone on each side.) including small particles in the screen. I raised the foot end of the bed with encyclopedias so the legs were up over 12-15 inches. Drink 2 BIG glasses of water then WAIT 1/2 hr. Then lay with your legs UP so your heads downwards to the headend. Then try to shake your body about every 2-3 minutes. It DOES work.
