I am doing research for my mom. She just found out that she needs to have this ESWL done for her kidney stones But she does not have health insurance and is wondering how much it's going to cost her! Any help?????

I have had three Lithotripsies to blast one stone. The cost of each procedure was around $13,000 - the cost of all three procedures was about $39,000. Try and apply for assistance from the hospital. My hospital approved me for my ureteroscopy and covered the entire cost. I am unemployed.

If the stone is large, keep in mind that ESWL can cause damage to the pancreas and the Central Nervous System; this happened to me and I now have diabetes and high blood pressure because of the damage from ESWL.
