The procedure is about $13,000.00, according to my experience with same day surgery.

Research your state for options to get medical assistance for the uninsured. Try the Dept of Social Services in your state -- you can find the information in your state's Web page -- just do a search on www.google.com or www.msn.com

I have had three Lithotripsies to blast one stone. The cost of each procedure was around $13,000 - the cost of all three procedures was about $39,000. Try and apply for assistance from the hospital. My hospital approved me for my ureteroscopy and covered the entire cost. I am unemployed.

If the stone is large, keep in mind that ESWL can cause damage to the pancreas and the Central Nervous System; this happened to me and I now have diabetes and high blood pressure because of the damage from ESWL.

You are in my prayers.
