Welcome to the wonderful world of stents!!! I have had many (20-25). I think they are horrible, painful, irritating, uncomfortable things that I have ever encountered in my life. This past January I had a large one (13mm) stuck in my ureter and my doc went in and placed a stent leaving the stone until the infection was dealt with. Then two weeks later going back in and blasting the stone and getting rid of it. I must say that having the stone with the stent was bad. As always there was blood and clots and tons of pain. I wish I could say that it gets better as the time goes on but it doesn't. Besides pain meds and lots of them, I do drink marshmallow root tea. I am NOT a health nut, herbalist by any stretch of the imagination but it really does help. The tea get kinda thick and it coats everything and soothes the pain. I hope all go's well for ya!
