AFTER STONE REMOVAL

Post a new topicby mconley35 on Thu May 21, 2009 3:53 pm

I had 2 "shock treatments" and then the basket removal for a large kidney stone. Not sure exact size. I went back for my check up and everything is fine. The Dr wants me to go for an ultrasound to look for possible scar tissue. Money is tight right now, but health is important. I am young enough and very healthy. Do u think it would be ok to skip this?

I think the check-up is important, but not at all sure why scar tissue is of concern. Why not ask your doctor if this is routine, or if he/she suspects there might be a problem. The checkup after lithotripsy is supposed to check for any large fragments or additional stones, so I would ask about the issue of scar tissue. Something does not sound right to me. Good luck!
