Hi - I too suffer with kidney stones(cystine stones) and recently had surgery to remove them in the past three weeks. Due to the size of the stone - I had to have two surgeries and recently had one yesterday to remove a piece of the stone that fell into the tube leading into my bladder. In between the past of couple of weeks I had pain after the second surgery and called my doctor - went right into his office where he had to irigate the kidney - very painful.

So if you feel pain in the kidney area go back to the hospital - it could be any thing - blockage etc. The goal is for you to be pain free. The burning in your urine is normal due to the procedure. However the kidney pain - you must go back to the hospital.
