Still suffering with a stone after Lithotripsy

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Jul 28, 2008 2:06 pm

Hello, I’ve been a longtime kidney stone sufferer since the age of 16 (now age 50 and female). I’ve always been able to pass them until now. This one started a couple of weeks ago. A CT scan showed I had an 11mm stone in my right ureter. I had lithotripsy done and was sent home. I’ve been back to the ER twice for pain relief and continued to have intermitent pain. However, since Thursday I’ve been suffering with moderate to severe pain and living on Percoset to relieve so...Read the full article

I hear you. I suffered with my first kidney stones about 5 years ago. I had five at that time, four very painful but passable, one so large they manipulated it back into the bottom of my kidney. I have been plagued with UTI's ever since. I've had lithotripsy on that stone 3 times and they have yet to break it up. It still remains there. I got so tired of going to the Doctor being dianosed with UTI and blood in my urine, more antibiotics that didn't seem to work for any length of time until I just stopped going. Last Sunday (3 years later)I knew I had kidney stones again, went to the emergency room, had a CT only to find out I now have multiple stones (to many to count) and of course the infections that go with it. Like others in this forum the Urologist I had used had gone to another group. I did find him guess I'm going to make an appointment and see what happens this time. Good Luck with yours, it seems once you get them you just continue to get them.

Hi,

I am also 50 years old and have a stone problems since 1990. I had 4 or 5 times incidents with stones from my right kidney. But as the stones where not big I did not use the lithotripser. The stones were passing relatively easily (the longest case I remember was not more than 10 days) due to use of a herbal tea from the leaves of the forest berries. If you have still the pain you may contact me to exchange advices.

Regards
