No Thanks on Thanksgiving

Post a new topicby livingwith on Tue Dec 02, 2008 3:47 pm

Thanksgiving 2008, I had just sat down to a nice dinner by myself (did the family thing a couple weeks ago). About 6 bites into my meal, it felt like I was stabbed in the lower right abdomen. The most serious pain I’d ever felt. I ran to the bathroom and immediately got ill. I broke out in a heavy sweat, then got chilled, and kept on a cycle of being sick, sweating and chilling for about 20 minutes. I thought I was seriously dying.
I live next to a good hospital, so I took myself ther...Read the full article

Wow, the same exact thing happened to me last week. It wasn't on Thanksgiving that it happened to me, but on Tuesday night. I had such a horrible pain in my right side and I couldn't keep anything down. I thought I had food poisoning but it wasn't even close. I tried and tried to use the restroom but couldn't, and no matter what I put in my mouth it came right back out. Wednesday I didn't have any pain and I could keep stuff down, but when Thanksgiving day rolled around it came back. It was the most horrible pain I have ever had in my life. I thought I was dying and I even thought of killing myself to get it over, but I eventually went to the emergency room Friday evening.

I got there and the nurse could tell that I was in horrible pain so she pushed me ahead and got me to the back room. I had to pee in a cup (which was almost impossible), they took blood and I had to get a CT scan before they could give me any medication. They said they stopped counting the blood in my urine after 180 cells and they knew right away that I had Kidney Stones. After laying there for 5 hours in pain they FINALLY gave me some medication through my IV and had to give me an IV of water to rehydrate me.

Mine was a 3mm little sucker and it's been 7 days and I haven't passed it yet. Friday after the last amount of horrible pain they had said it passed from my Kidneys and it's in my bladder. I know it's still in there cause I can't sleep on my right side without a horrible pain shooting up through me, so hopefully I'll pass it soon. They told me it could take a week, a month or even a FREAKING YEAR! All I know is that I completely quit drinking pop and have started eating better. Hopefully I can pass this thing soon. Every once in a while I get a burning throbbing sensation in my right side and the Oxycodone sure does help a lot. Good luck

I think this is the worst pain I have ever had. I have been living with this pain since September of 2008. I went to two diffrent Dr's and finnaly the last one fiqured it out. I just had a stint put in the other day and two weeks later they performed the lithotripsy surgery. And broke the stone but it got stuck beside the stint. Oh ya just my luck i'm going back for a stone manipulation this monday. Hopefully this works. I do not whish this own my worst enemy.
