Hi everyone, I am from UK. Five years ago I had two massive stones in my left kidney which they blasted. Unfortunately these never came out so I had hundreds of the darling things moving around. I passed some so they did an ureteoscopy, twice in a week, it didnt work.. Came out with a stent in, that was agony and then I had a major operation where they go in your back and they managed to get them out. Ahoy I am stonemkr from the United States and I have had chronic stones since 1985. It always hurts to hear of others with stones and I try to give my learning experiences to those with stones. I am sorry that your children have to endure your life threating kidney condition. If it is any comfort I lost my home over stones and even endured homelessness after a major kidney surgery with a external kidney called a Jackson Prep, now that was a nightmare for sure. Watch out for those Lipotriposys!!! They leave dust and particles lodged in the medullary part of the kidney which is irreversiable!! When you have a stone moving out stand on your head as this really works!!!! I have hundreds thousands but if I stayed away from the Lipotriposys I would have been much better off!!! GL Carol

Ahoy, this is stonemkr and first I would like to say how sorry I am that you have stones. Stones are trickey little devils , they hide as you now know. If this helps I have had 17 lithos, a couple every other year. The first ones were at UCLA in the experimental stage and wow how scary was that , spinal cath, that paralized you from the neck down and then lowered into a stainless steel tub of water and then blasted with 2000 blasts at a time. Fractured three teeth and eye trama to the point of glasses have changed 6 times since 1985. The good part is that I was near death and no way to save me from the 6 quarter size stones , three in each kidney that had grown a membraine around them so they could not move, untill the litho got here from Hawaii and saved my life . This litho is a gift to all of us that have to live with kidney stones. Stay tough and hang in there. stonemkr
