I found out I had 3 large kidney stones by a CT scan (they were 1.5m, 7m, 5m). I was only experiencing mild back pain. The urologist told me I needed ESWL. I was put under and after the procedure a stent was put in. I thought I’d be in a lot of pain, but I just had mild back pain, and I didn’t even feel the stent.
