Where to go for help.

Post a new topicby ecrissy on Sun Sep 09, 2007 9:42 pm

I had labs done in July and everything including Thyroid, PTH came back normal except calcium is below normal. I started taking calcium supplements and have since been retested twice with still low calcium levels. My PCP wants me to go to an endocronologist but I feel the problem may be kidney related. My left kidney bothers me and I am also having leg cramps at night and weird feeling around my lips. I had a kidney stone removed three years ago and know I have another one because after the stone was removed I had another xray three months later because of the left kidney pain. I didn't have it removed and wondering could this be the cause of the low calcium? Could this be causing kidney failure? Thank you for any advise. I should mention my thyroid was removed four years ago and maybe that is why my PCP wants me to go to the endo.

Your low calcium is not being caused by a kidney stone, make sure you see the endocrinologist, good luck
