should I worry?

Post a new topicby taralynn on Tue Sep 02, 2008 1:12 pm

I have had urine infections a lot for a while now. I also have had ( for the last 2 years) pain in the morning in my kidney areas. When I wake up it hurts so bad I can barley get up, after I urinate and get moving around it seems to go away, but always comes back again in another morning. Also lately I have been getting urine infection symptoms: burning, urge to go a lot more often, smell, but when I go to the doctor it doesn't show infection but a high white cell count. just had a ultra sound and talked to the secretary today, she said I had a large cyst in my left kidney and the doctor will talk to me about it on Sept 16. She also said that I will need a CT scan to see what's going on. I didn't tell her I had my urine infection symptoms back again ( I just got done taking a perscription for it ) Should I be worried about cancer....I am 29 years old. Female.
Thanks for your time.

I believe it is inapproppriate for a doctor's secretary to give you that type of information unless the doctor is immeadiately available to speak with you. Demand to speak to the doctor at once and get a copy of your ultrasound report. If the report shows any reference to a kidney problem ask for a referral to a urologist. When all is said and done there are many other possibilities other than kidney cancer which is most prevelant in males over 50 which you are not.

I am going to see the doctor Sept 16 th. I just moved provinces and this doctor is new. She seems to be a good doctor, but your right, I was surprised when the secretary told me this info, because now I have lots of questions...Thanks for your reply...Taralynn

ok. I have my report but I'm still not sure what is going on. I know I have to have a ct scan. I am going to google some "terms" on my report to see if I can find any answers. The problem with that is you can find alot of misleading info online. Maybe someone will have an opion, questions, or stories they would like to share after reading my report. My report is:

There is a complex cyst in the lower pole which measures 2.9 cm in mean diameter.

There are septations present and some irregularity of it's walls.

Along the periphery of the mid pole renal sinus there is a tiny echogenicity which is equivocal for a tiny non-obstructing calculus.

I would draw attention to the complicated cyst. There are multiple septations.

This septated cyst formation requires very definite follow up.

There is also a mild increase in liver echogenicity.....if that is related..I don't know.

Anybody that knows or have had experince with similar kidney problems????

I have had MANY health issues before ( TIA stroke ( one week after I turned 26), Fibromyalgia
( that flares up alot ) just a couple for example and I delt with them...But this kidney issue I can't shake of my mind, just have a worried feeling.

Again, Should I worry??
