Renal Cell CarcenomaMy Brother-n-law went in to have a tumor removed from his thyroid. After the lab tested the cells. It came back as renal cell cancer. He is going to have an MRI done tomorrow. I've searched the internet and after reading the different stages it sounds like he is already in stage IV. He is 40 years old. I'll know further infomation by Friday 6/17.....I'm looking to hear from someone else that might be going through the same issues that might give us some more infomation.
Re: Renal Cell CarcenomaNeed to wait for the MRI results, good luck to you and your brother
Re: Renal Cell CarcenomaDefinitely wait on the MRI before making any decisions. I was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney cancer in July of 2006. My kidney was removed and I've been doing well since the surgery. Although my energy level is not quite what it used to be. I was 38 when I was first diagnosed. After the surgery my doctors were able to conclude that the cancer was confined to the kidney that was removed. Thus far I have had 3 CT scans since the surgery and I'm still clean.
I think it's extremely important that your family member has a strong support mechanism that keeps his mental health strong through this difficult time.
