History: 10 years agoa golf ball size symple cyst showed on an ultrasound. I'd had extreme pressure under my rib cage for a couple years before that. About 8 years ago, the dr thought I had a couple fractured ribs though it wasnt clear on xray. I think it had grown adn ruptured. Sept 08 I had almost the same pain again - burning, throbbing, tearing feeling. October showed a simple cyst again same place but 7cm big. Hurt to breathe and walk. November my urologist said we could 1. drain it; 2. unroof it; 3. remove part of the kidney. I opted for draining it - orange size now - no cancer. Two weeks after - same pain again. Jan. another ct scan - had grown to 7cm again. Feb. had it unroofed via laparascope - still no cancer. 4 weeks post op same pain occurs. I thought possibly still surgery pain but at 6 weeks continued. June ultrasound - 4 cm. 10 days later ct scan was 6 cm and now called a benign minimally complex cyst. Wtih it growingso much and so often, I have optedto do the surgery next week finally. I hope I am making the right decision. During July and August I know it has filled at least 3 times. Any body else had similar symptoms and treatment and had it turn to cancer? I am prepared if it is but I wonder what has changed on thecyst to be complex now.
