kidney removal and reoccurance of UTI

Post a new topicby rina on Tue Jan 01, 2008 9:11 am

My father had urinary tract infection and a tumour was diagnosed. he went a surgery for kidney tumour and the doctors removed the kidney. the size of the tumour was 4 cm. My father is 60 years old. In the first follow up checkup which was in 3 months all reports were clear. but one week after that he is again having burning sensation in passing urine and also pain. He also had mild fever. Doctors have given him antibiotics. Is it a simple urinary tract infection or some major cause of concern. is it that his second kidney is also infected but it has no signs of tumour . Kindly let me know any information regarding this.
