Kidney Cancer and Chemotherapy

My mor has been diagnosed Kidney Cancer (RCC), has a 13cm tumor on her right Kidney ( I believe is now bleeding?). cancer has masticated is now in her femur spine, spots on her lungs. stage of cancer do think she has does type of cancer not respond to chemorapy. As well, how effective is radiation in se circumstances. Thank .

It sounds as if she has stage 4 disease. It is not clear why this tumor type is relatively resistant to chemotherapy. Radiation can be used to areas where there is painful involvement but is not used as a curative modality as it has never been shown to be of benefit. Kidney and lung cancer

My Dad is 88 years old. We have been told he has a large mass in his right kidney and swelling in the lymph nodes. Also a large mass in his lung, which at first appeared to be pnuemonia. He is in a very weakened state, so he is unable to go through any kind of biopsy. We have him in hospice care right now. He appeared to be dying any day, but since has been improving. I was wondering if kidney cancer is an aggressive cancer. So if he does get better for now, will it be long before he goes down hill again? Or is there any way to know? Thank you.
