Dad Has Kidney CancerMy dad is 88 years old is in a very weakened state. While in hospital y discovered a large tumor in his right kidney also said his lymph nodes were swollen. y also found a mass in one of his lungs. I just wondering how aggressive is kidney cancer? He is unable to undergo any kind of treatment considering his age condition. y weren't even able to do a biopsy to be sure it is cancer. lymph nodes swollen could it be anything else? Do think his life expectancy could be very long? Thank any answers can give.
Re: Dad Has Kidney CancerKidney cancer (aka renal cell cancer) is a very aggressive cancer in general. If in fact the disease is renal cell cancer and it has spread to the lung it would be considered stage 4 or metastatic disease. In the absence of therapy (for which there is currently no good therapy) life span is usually considerable shortened. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
