HUS After pregnancy

Post a new topicby dainy on Sat Jul 26, 2008 3:38 am

Hi,
My wife is HUS patient after her first delivery. actually it happened 2 years before at the 6th day after delivery. that time 21 days plasma pherasis done, and she were perfectly alright. but after 1 year same thing happened again and again 21 days plasma pherasis done, but no use, now since last 1 year she is continuing dialysis trice and week. now doctors are suggesting for kidney transplant. i just want to know if we do transplant, is it will cure permanently.
i am really confused, if anybody had or having the same problem, please share ur reference and stories.
thanking you

Hello
From what I understand (my daughter had 2 HUS episodes) it depends what the reason is for these episodes will a transplant cure her.
I suggest (which you probably are doing already) having her blood tested for TTP, Adams 13, MCP/Factor H/Factor I mutation to give you a better direction on your decision.
These tests can take a while to get results and are usually done in Italy.
Having her take 1 once of organic Acai Berry juice a day can never hurt to keep her healthy and strong.
Good luck!
