Diaharea, weight loss, feverWe have a family friend 60 years old. About 6 years back he was diagnosed with DVT (leg) and was put on medication which relieved his symptoms. Now since April 2007 he has been having severe diaharea (around 10-20 stools a day), loss of appetite, difficulty in swallowing, general nausea and a low grade fever of 100. After all test i.e., endoscopy, stomach CT Scan etc have been returned back negative. The only result of the stomach CT Scan showing hardening of the stomach wall and an increase of the intestinal lymph nodes to the chest. Doctors are baffled as to what coul dbe the symptoms. Our friend even has a slight blood clot in the brain. The doctors intend to now remove some of the lymph nodes present behind his intestines to ascertain what is actually wrong. He tested clear for HIV Aids, Hepatitis A, B and C. Another thing which is troublesome what is ESR? The doctors say his ESR is too high around 200.
Please help!! Regards Noreen
