My new kidney has ATNI joined here to learn more about ATN as I had never heard about it before. My newly transplanted kidney (Sept 30th 2007) has ATN because of trauma during surgery and lack of oxygen during and after due to very low blood pressure. It is now Nov 11th and the kidney is still "sleepy". I do full time hemodialysis still.
I would like to learn more about ATN and why I have come here for support on this matter. - Angie
Re: My new kidney has ATNMy situation is a little different, I had some infection that put me in the hospital for 12 days, and had low blood pressure, and no kidney function for the first three days. After having dialysis my whole stay, I was discharged and told I had ATN. I have been back on dialysis( with a graft) now for over three weeks. They are hoping the kidney will come back. Have you received any answers or over that time did your kidney wake up? I am trying to stay calm, but no one has explained the chances of it functioning again, and as it was my daughter that sacrafised a kidney, I am extremely distraught at not knowing anything.
